Deep in the monstrous jungles of the Amazon grows a small berry which the locals claim is capable of some truly incredible things. The indigenous tribesman, the 'Caboclo' are so enamoured with the Acai berry that it constitutes forty-two percent of their diet making the tree on which the Acai berry grows (in panicles of seven to nine hundred fruit) their most important plant species.
Thanks in part to endorsements from such salient media figures as Oprah Winfrey and Rachel Ray the Acai berry diet is no longer the preserve of an isolated tribe in one of the remotest regions of the Amazon Rainforest, instead it is used worldwide as a delicious and effective weight loss supplement.
Hollywood celebrity's including Denise Richards, Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson have all been seen enjoying the Acai berry in its various guises. Recently the king of Hollywood himself Brad Pitt followed the Acai berry diet on the advice of his trainer. In less than two months Brad Pitt managed to lose four percent of his body fat and attain what he believes to be the best shape of his life.
The Acai berry has its fair share of support from the sporting world as well, with the likes of tri-athlete Felipe Bastos and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell 'T.O' Owens extending their plaudits to the Acai berry.
Perhaps the Acai berry's most articulate supporter in the sporting world is six times surfing champion and regular living legend Mr Kelly Slater who has been recorded in saying on a video that is freely gettable on many video sharing websites including YouTube how he first encountered the Acai berry many years ago while surfing Brazil's tempestuous west coast and has never looked back since. For more Acai berry information goes on over to the Acai berry blog or visit any related website.
